Poem 1 of 15

Poetry For Peace

Keep the creative juices flowing,
For your wisdom and insight to be extolling.

Writing from your heart is the start of creating peace.
Peace of mind, peace of body, household peace, national
peace, world peace, for this, you must release what’s inside,
You must not hide, for you are an eternal treasure, way beyond measure

Writing poetry for peace will help us to release our internal
awesomeness for all to see and experience for body
and mind a feeling sublime and a cessation of
conflict and war. A time for our spirit to soar.

The energy is endless, the potential is tremendous
for all to share. We all have a song that longs
to be heard, to be recognized and praised
that lifts our heart to a higher place.

Writing poetry for peace is a chance to share,
To lessen a care or two, to shed a tear,
to release a fear.
A chance to ponder a different view,
A new perspective on an old directive.

So with a vision in mind, we create a plan - - -
To tap the keyboard, or pick up a pen.

Right now, our task commences to share our
heart for all to feel and see - - - to create
love and peace through our poetry.

Heart To Heart

Heart to heart is the start for a world of peace.

A lasting peace, where we can live as one,

where we can live as brothers and sisters without the guns.

Without the barriers that divide us, that incite us,

to criticize and surmise that my religion, my race, my idea is the best!

Let’s lay all of that to rest.

We’re all children of the one Creator, all striving

to accomplish something greater.

We don’t need to fight or argue, or to say my way is best.

Let’s lay all of that to rest.

Heart to heart, not toe to toe,

in a political show of who is right or wrong,

of who is weak or strong,

of who is deficient or who is clever ---

don’t pull that lever to release the bombs

that blow apart and rip our heart and spill our blood

and that separate us from the God of love.

It's heart to heart to heal the pain

of 8 billion broken hearts and confused brains.

We need to evaporate the agony of this turbulent reign.

Don’t let your frustration and anger lessen your love,

we must raise our spirit with the One above.

Don’t say that unkind word or do that unkind act,

that’s a trap, let kindness and compassion be our call for action!

How can I judge or criticize when I see everything

through the eyes of love?

What does our Heavenly Parent see ---

unfortunately, a world of brokenness, war,

hunger, sickness and pain,

but this won’t last, this won’t remain.

Let’s lift up our hands and hearts

to receive and share a renewed heart

of love and care!

Let’s work together in a revival of

heart to heart and hand to hand

to make a new start and invite God to heal our hearts

and to heal our land!

Caffeine Conundrum

I need to abstain cause it’s breaking my brain.
Too much caffeine, too much coffee, too much tea,
is taking a toll, it’s supposed benefits, I cannot extoll.

I want to taper off, but that vapor is
compelling when I savor what I’m smelling and that lift is nifty,
but my brain is yelling, that I need that hit, that caffeine lift.

My mind is saying, don’t get habituated or infatuated by this magic
elixir, that can fix anything, or at least make you feel better.

However, it seems most people are addicted, so what should I do, I am
so conflicted. That vibe is bothering me, but for the meantime, I guess

I remain, a compliant and willing “bean brain”.

To drink or not to drink, that is the question. To imbibe, to feel more
alive, more alert, how can that hinder, those are the thoughts that

continue to linger.

Covid Coup

The media is weaving doom and gloom
on their loom. Spinning out negativity
and fear, giving us a feeling of uncertainty.

Setting us up for the lockdown, the
knockdown of our hopes and dreams.
Inject us, to protect us. After all, it’s just
an experiment, to control a disease, so
so be compliant and at ease.

Politicians on all levels, they bedevil and
chide, and try to extoll and brag on how
well they control. Herding us like sheep,
don’t make a peep or your mother or
father won’t wake up from their sleep.

Mask up and shut-up, it’s now six feet
apart or six feet under. Sanitize everything,
wash your hands, don’t make a blunder.
After all children, “we are your new mother.”

“It’s science you fool, we’re the ones who
rule. Just get in line and you’ll be just fine.”
It’s evidence based, you know, just get the
shot or else you’ll rot. Do your part, it’s only
patriotic. Get the fix, it’s a matter of expedience,
just forget about the ingredients.”

Don't Forget

Don’t forget to charge your phone.

Yes, or you’ll be alone.
Cut off from your digital pals, all the clever comments, yikes!
No power means no likes!

No self-esteem, my confidence is shaken,

my “friends” don’t appreciate me anymore, my heart is breaking.
This hunk of plastic is so fantastic, it’s my lifeline,

it lifts me up and it takes me down,

it gives me a smile and it gives me a frown.

Transfixed on the screen, I lose track of time, people are ignored,

even my pet, is sick and needs the vet,

but I can’t stop or I’ll feel anxious,

my kids wants to got to the park,

they’re feeling cantankerous.

My hand can’t release its grip, if I don’t comment,

I’ll let my “friend” down and my rating will slip.
There is no power left, now I feel bereft.

I wasted time and energy to no avail.

My wife and kids are starting to wail. “Put that thing down.
We need attention. We’re fed-up, we’re having no fun,

put that thing down, or we’re calling 911.”

Nature Heals

Nature surrounds us, embraces us, with its flair, it’s
colors, with its textures, with its crisp cool air.
It lectures us silently from a higher level. But are we
listening? Are we aware that we’re being hugged by all
that’s there?

The sunlit skies lift us when we are conflicted. However, it’s
hard to feel what’s there, the love emanating from a smile, a
kind word, a flower or a beautiful tree. We usually respond
with fear from an insult or a slight, or a feeling of not being
enough, we block the love of nature when things get rough.

Nature with its changeability, helps us to release our
negativity. It can lift us high, but do we feel it? Are we open to
its gift or is there a rift, a barrier to our awareness, to this
gentle kindness?

Creation is waiting while we’re procrastinating and berating
each other, filling our void with numbing distractions and
painful interactions.

Where is our attention? It’s complex, we can never be
fulfilled from popcorn, or a video or the multiplex. Creation
beckons us to change our heart. Go out, go out, make a new start.

Smell that flower, kick up some leaves, look up at the sky,
feel that cool breeze. Embrace your pet, and your spouse
and be nice to a vet. Gaze at a goldfish, or a plant, walk in
the woods, stare at an ant. Go out into nature, relax, interact,
observe - - nature is there to serve.

Poem 7 of 15

Don't Drown

Hindered by tech, YES!
Harassed at best.
However, we can't set the
clock back, I guess. So
Let's have a truce and
become kindered.

Yes, take what is best and
don't drown in the rest.
Discipline is hard, but if you
want to win, you must learn
how to swim!

Transitions

In life we are all in transit, and as is human,
we work to enhance it.

To improve, to upgrade, to be more confident
to be more brave. To be in better health, to
improve our wealth.

Where is the nirvana? It's always, "I wanna this,
I wanna that," where is the bliss? What did I miss?

There are no easy fixes in this journey through
life, with its ups and downs, its joy and its strife.

Where is the peace of mind we are working to find?

Each day we must find our way to embrace, its understood,
all that is pure and uplifting and kind and good. Herein is
our joy, our satisfaction for a life that is in transition,
this must be our position.

Lightning fast goes the day as our life transitions away,
as we work and sleep and shop and play, love and be loved
and look at nature and admire the stars above.

We need to consider the flower, ponder its power.
We must be like they lending our hearts and hands
to bring more love and light into the day.

Poem 9 of 15

Drones

Drones, shooting through the sky. What's with this phenomena?
What's with this drama?

Mostly what we hear is fear droning in our ear. Incessant chatter, filling
the air, pundits and politicians with their speculations and recollections,
explaining how much they care.

Low flying objects sweeping through the air, blinking and winking, red and white and green, what can this mean? Is this this Santa and a fleet of elves?

Or something not so clean, something more scare-eous, something more
nefarious?

Why are we so dumb? Why don't we know why what's so troubling in the sky? We have a reason to be suspicious, these pesky bees, could be malicious.

They could have a plan, courtesy of China or Iran.

Why are we paralyzed as we analyze what the drones
could be? Tomorrow when we wakeup we may not be free. Inaction will
be the cause if we lose our liberty.

As we ponder and surmise an enemy could take us by surprise.
Another Pearl Harbor anyone - a tragedy that wasn't fun.

Friend or foe, we need to know fast, if our sanity and nation is to last.

Poem 10 of 15

Old Is Gold

Does being old mean I can’t be bold, that I have to go down in weakness,
That I’m decrepit and frail and can only weep and wail?
Does being old mean that I’m useless, nearly toothless, pushed aside and
relegated to just go and hide?
Does it mean that I’m looked down on, frowned on, considered less than,
Or does it depend on the viewer whether I’m valued or just a piece of manure?

My strength and beauty have faded, I’m wrinkled and gray, bent over.

Am I not considered in any way?

Or like the phoenix do I rise with new life and energy and soar in a limitless sky?

High, high above self-doubt and fear that my life was wasted

and now that I’m old that I didn’t accomplish
my goals?

Do I accept that I’m unable to do anything productive anymore,
that I cannot fully love and communicate or am I just hurriedly ushered out the door?

We can do all things, we have built in wings, that take us higher and higher
in our connection with God and others – this eternal flame cannot be smothered.
We are more, way more than we ever thought before.

Holy Mother Han calls us to hold on to our dreams of a better world

that is free from pain and regret, a life of accomplishment and beauty

where we can develop and express our full potential,

strong and productive and influential.

For both young and old a new world unfolds.

Our minds and bodies are united, we are strong,

of one heart to make a new start,
To shape and fashion a world of pure water, of pure gold,

a family that’s strong and bold.
We are a family of heart and soul, that’s ready to rock and roll,

even if I’m old, I’m going to
hang on, I’m still not ready to go!

Poem 11 of 15

Open Your Heart

Open your heart, to the love above.
Open your heart to the love that is growing,
that is showing itself everywhere, if you are
conscious and aware. Even if you’re not, it has
a divine plot. It is shadowing you,
chasing you down despite your resistance,
despite your insistence, despite your defenses.

Despite your bruised and hardened heart, it
is glowing, it is showing itself in places of least
expectation as well as in the joy of celebration.
In a smile, in a word, in a shaft of
light through a tree above, in a cardinal that’s taken flight.
Through the mist of the glow of the moon at night.

Open your heart to love all around,
in the sky above, and the beauty of the ground, the lily,
the daffodil, the frivolous squirrel, the frothy white clouds
that spin and twirl in the wind of the storm, or the chubby clouds
that lounge in a sky of blue, it’s all there for you.

The earth is abundant, resplendent, in its variety, its texture, its
taste and its touch, that’s why we appreciate it so much.
Do not squander it, as you wander upon it, as you trod your way
in your life every day. For it is a treasure beyond measure. It is a gift
from our God above, an energy field that’s willing to yield it’s
secrets, if you open your heart, we all play a part, we all play
a role, so open your heart, open your mind, we are all here as
children of our Maker Divine.

Poem 12 of 15

Returning Home

What can be entertaining? What can create a laugh?
I can’t dance; I can’t sing. Maybe I look like a giraffe.
A long neck, a long body, tattered in dress, looking
quite shoddy.

I can’t sing, I don’t wear any bling, no diamonds or gold,
Just a tall skinny guy, who’s looking so old.
What can be funny? What can create humor?
Maybe a carefully crafted joke or a clever rumor.

The worlds on fire and I want to retire, but life’s not funny
when you’re running out of money. So, I must be a little
serious or folks will be curious. What’s his M.O.? Why is
he so joyful, maybe too much mojo, or expresso, or Americano
or drinking cold brew for a breakthrough? Nope. Some caffeine yes,
but wait, there’s more. That’s not the best, but here’s the rest.

It’s going with God’s flow, the energy of the eternal,
The heavenly flame that’s always flowing, so we can always
be growing in our compassion and growing in love and in our
connection with our Creator above.

That’s the new fashion, that’s our new role, to live a
life, that is caring and sharing, and whole. The world is changing
and rearranging and we are on the cusp of a new era of righteousness,
of fulfillment for each and everyone! All are included, no one is excluded.
The truth will be revealed. The world will be healed. No more human moaning.
No more nature groaning. This is God’s eternal plan, the Kingdom of Heaven
on Earth. All are happy and fulfilled in this beautiful new land.

God now has a home on earth, and we are Blessed with a new rebirth.
We are God’s temple: the dwelling of our Creator most high.

We raise our face and hands in this new Godly embrace.

We are never alone, we are complete,
we are now home.

Poem 13 of 15

Peace Starts With Me

What is peace?
Peace gives us release.
Peace, peaceful, pleasant, patience,
and love, and all of the above, and more.
An eternity of pleasantness and serenity.

Peace is filled with friendship, filial piety,
With festivity, with engaging and constructive
variety and especially with the joyfulness of family!

Filled to the brim with contentment; there is no room
for fear or jealousy or resentment. No need for addiction,
or conflict, only fulfillment, no worry for derailment or
going astray, we are whole and complete in every way.

Flowing and filled. Flying on a cloud of love, high, high above
the petty and perturbing storminess of the fray, of
the continuous frustration of hatred and temptation that happens
everyday.

Open your heart to the Creator of Peace, to the Lord of Love.
Open your heart to our God above. Peace is possible,
we shouldn’t give up, we shouldn’t stray. However, we do need to pray.
There is hope. Peace is on the way. Peace starts with you,
peace starts with me, open your heart so we all can be free!

Voice And Hand

Voice and Hand

Be the voice

of those who tried.
Of those who died,

working to build
their dream,

for a life serene, but
couldn’t climb that hill,

that couldn’t
fulfill their desire, that fire,

that resides in each soul.

Each one, everyone, has a seed of hope,
a need to be fulfilled, to live a life on the
highest hill. To feel the thrill of achievement
and satisfaction, to put their plan into action.

Capricious are the winds of fate as to place
and date where we appear. Most of us are
filled with doubt and fear. Life is not always
consistent and clear.

Consider the children who are starving, who
never had a chance to run and play or have
the joy of learning. Are they not deserving?
Or the child with a birth defect,

who will never walk
or speak, who will never reach their peak?

So, if there is mind and thought, a conscience
that is distraught,

with concern and anguish for
souls who are captive to their

fears and phobias and
emotional entanglements

and addictive arrangements
and physical impairments - - - then be the voice,

be the cure, lift your heart,

put forth your hands, you can be
of help, you can endure.

Please take a stand. Tune into
that inner voice. You have the power; you have the choice!

Join with other

like minded folks,

and unite in this effort
to reach out and above and

spread the love and healing
calm of universal love, that healing balm. Now is the time
to lend your voice and hand

to heal the world, to heal this
aching, crying land.

Now is the time,

there should be

no waiting, or anticipating,
or procrastinating,

now is the time to get in line with others
to enter the flow, the cascade, the glow,

of the gentle spiritual
upgrade from the Creator

above who pours upon us all,
never-ending, abundant love.

Poem 15 of 15

Words

Words. A world of words. Intricate, delicate, brash
emotive, denotive, kind, harsh, trash, and explanative words.

Words, that lift one up and bring one down, to communicate-
what’s needed, to meet our needs, to express our feelings.
Words set the heart and mind reeling in joy--- sometimes: and
sometimes words trigger thoughts that make us angry and sad,
happy or mad, depressed, confused and all of the rest.

Let us focus on words that lift-up and encourage, that can
carry us through crises and can soothe divisions and cause us to
make kind and thoughtful decisions. Words that help build confidence
and that edify so we can fly and break free of doubt and worry.

We were created by the word, and we create by the word. So
let our voices be heard, with words that are true and kind and
spoken with love, so the world can be a place of freedom and
grace for the whole human race.
